Las VegasBiography
Been playing off and on for about 45+ years. Stopped playing when I started my family in my 20's. I didn't have the time and needed the money so I sold my 58 Les Paul to buy my first condo.
I started playing again in my 40s. Never anything too serious because I had a lot of friends who were professional musicians. Basically I'm lazy and could make easier/more money than they could doing the daily gig trot.
I sit in every now and then with my friends. This was always fun. However I decided to never get a band together because I'm a bluesman true and true. I like some rock and jazz too. I want to play what I want to play and not what's at the top of the chart on any particular day. I love to jam and make up songs on the fly and not play the same song the same way everyday.
My influences are all the original blues players and singers. Almost all are no longer with us and are having a big jam session in the after life. There are a few still around but it seems my generation is headed to the light.
The are some great young artist I listen to now - Joe Bonamassa, KWS and Jonny Lang to name a few. There are a LOT of good young players who don't get the recognition they should get. The music industry has changed a lot in my life time. I think the best guys to chat with about how to make it in today's industry are Joe Walsh and Joe Bonamassa.
Anyway I looking forward to jamming with people on this site.
