Another snare experiment with an old funk jam. Used my Pearl 13x3 brass piccolo on the track. It doesn't sound right to my ears: none of its characteristic bite and power appear present. It's currently got a Remo Ambassador Coated snare head on it and at no tuning does it sound particularly good, just dull and boomy. I'll have to take a long look at the choice of heads as I know this is a good snare as it used ...
