I've never been able to work with any kind of trem where i could feel halfway confident that I wasn't wanking more than usual (Brad Gillis, anyone?)
But, I know what you mean about resting your hand. the only guitars I play these days are LP shapes and my one strat style feel weird. And it sucks. It doesn't help that it sucks too.
