I played Bass for about 2 years in high school, and put it down for other ventures, but always longed to pick it back up. I got myself an acoustic a couple year ago and said, if I play regularly I'll get a set up again. I played every day and outgrew the acoustic within a month. I've yet to learn the fretboard, although occasionally I try, I still play largely by ear. I try to listen to a lot of different styles to expand upon the possibilities and this is a great place for that. Turns out in my adult years I've learned I really like to create. Whether it's a piece on the guitar, a piece of furniture, or videos, whatever.
Aram Bedrosian is my favorite solo bassist to listen to at this time, though I'm running into some great ones here too.
Bass. I haven't had anything extravagant. An old peavey in high school, an Ibanez acoustic, an Ibanez SR 300, and now my Schecter Omen Extreme. Next will be an Ibanez SR 655 I think :-) A Ritter would be a great piece to gain..
Very basic at this point, and still learning how to use it lol. So if anyone wants to know if you can do this on a budget, YES! Got a basic Behringer midi and free Presonus Studio One software. Ampeg amp, but usually direct from guitar - midi - computer.
