I started with playing violin in high school, went on to play guitar, drums, bass, viola, concert bass and cello. around with different people doing different things on stages and off. I've played country, blues, metal, rock, pop, hip hop, jazz...just about every thing.
I love music from everywhere and everything. I can find something I like in just about all of it. So, I would say I've been influenced by a lot of it as well. Early on I heard a lot of Elton John, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, The Shirelles, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Sly and The Family Stone, Chicago, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and more. Later, I got into stuff myself with Black Flag, Anthrax, Waylon Jennings, Megadeth, Pantera, Nirvana, Cat Stevens, Jackie Wilson, Buddy Guy, Soundgarden. Now, I try to keep myself going with Pink, Radiohead, The Black Keys and The White Stripes among others.
I've gone through quite a bit of stuff over the years. I've managed to keep the first guitar I ever bought with my own money; my Fender Squier HSS Strat. it has always done right by me and sounds fantastic.
A Fender Gemini II acoustic
Lately, I've been going pretty cheap with everything, as I have a lot of kids and breaking one of these wouldn't bring tears to my eyes.
A Morgan Monroe Tempest (I got for free and sounds spectacular)
Fender Affinity Strat that I modded a bit with a Gibson Burstbucker Pro in the middle pup slot.
A Maestro by Gibson (I got it for $40 and slowly turning it into a poor man's Les Paul Junior)
A guitar I made that looks like a Gibson Florentine with Seymour Duncans in it.
And a few amps.
Nothing special at all. Mostly a USB mic with a smatter of free programs.
