So I've been waiting for a new toy. A new EWI...so I thought maybe Pewi might be interested in hearing it. Pretty cool..fingers just like a sax..has tons of sounds. This violin is right out of the box. What a hoot to fool around with :)
Different to manage..but I'll learn. Let me know what ya think Violin starts at about 2:23

Well, it's different, and I guess for those of us that just play woodwinds it's a way to get another sound. Not sure it will ever sound like a real violin as the attacks and decay are a give away, plus the sound is very one dimensional. I've heard some good stuff on EWI that was more like synth with the EWI just acting as a midi controller. That (to my ears) goes beyond the phony instrument sound as it's not trying to ape a real instrument. IMHO there are better instrument programs set up for keys with high quality sampled sounds.

Yeah..there are better patches for this thing out there. I have lots of things to learn about it. Hard enough getting used to 4 octave keys🙄

Hey fish, I admire it every time someone tries something new! I think if someone plays with an EWI, he does not want to copy the real instrument, but he is looking for new sounds. I like the sound and the way you play very well! Finally, I am with my EWI no longer alone in Wikiland.

Pewi use and know well this instrument.
EWI is fantastic but sometimes sounds are more or less resembling. Really effective for the sounds of wind instruments, will give you more satisfaction I think.
