Just found this again Devin - and thanks so much for your performance @ the barn <3 Can't give you a second thumb, but now I've downloaded it together with OliV's guitar and chord sheet, will practise this on my big one (the upright) :)

Just looked at it, and I think I need help setting the bridge straight again. I had tried Herve Jeanne's method already, couldn't do it...

The problem is that if you loosen the strings too much, then the internal soundpost could fall - and you can't set that up by yourself...
What that means is that I'll probably play twice on this one - once with the fretless, and then with that double bass ;) +2

Wow, that bass looks comfortable on that rug with it's little pillow :D "Checking the bridge of a bass is a little like checking the oil of a car." Okay, sounds important.
So if I understand correctly, the idea is to have the bridge mostly perpendicular to the body? Then checking along 2 additional planes, horizontal and vertical, to find the perfect placement. +1

Indeed, yes. Here's another video from some well-known British bass luthiers, and when you see this you can probably imagine why it costs a bit to have an upright set up correctly...
