Awesome jazzy track from Simonymous, and a wonderful trio playing it. I put a trombone part in. Thanks guys -- great fun. :)

Just picking up on the fact that you really play trombone (expected a keys synth type). Great admiration for your chops and musical thoughts. What a talent!+1

nadrek Thanks Wade :) trombone was my second instrument after piano throughout school from age 12 and it remains today my second instrument after keys. +1

Wade You're probably not listening to many of my tracks, yet the goal is often to try and have the tenor sax sound like a trombone (but not always).
Check out 119836 as an example.

Ah! Very jazzy trombone melody and solo is beyond good!! Man, how do you keep up that trombone technique and embouchure? I assume you must practice. If not, FANTASTIC my friend!+1

nadrek Thanks Itocpogo. You’re very generous. Actually the trombone embouchure is not too hard to hold on to without practice - it is the trumpet that is really hard. I find in trumpet that I can have the range and tone, but I can only play for five or ten minutes before it disappears. There’s something about playing a range of mouthpieces that I think cross-trains the muscles. Like when athletes cross-train in other exercises to build muscles. I’m OK recording short phrases, but nowadays I’m miles off doing a full gig. I’d have to really practice hard for that! +0

nadrek Actually you can hear the tuning is not 100% there. That's the lack of practice showing through. :) +1

Itocpogo My whole life, I struggled to have a consistent good tone. Many decades ago I played clarinet, flute, tenor sax on all gigs. I found opposite of you. I found it difficult to have good tone on both clarinet and tenor sax since I was limited to less practice time. The more I went back and forth, the harder to maintain tone I wanted on each! Many sax/clarinet musicians can do it with no problem. So I just dedicated myself to the tenor sax! Man, I agree with you trying to stay in "gig" shape, and at my age (70) those days are gone. But life is all about changes, right! So I focus on recording and practicing to find new things in me. +1
