GlezBass Great bass with little chorus effect. Good tone with roundwound strings, I still have to keep adjusting strings but it starts to sound good with a more comfortable strings action ;) +1

LeftTheLoops9-18 Jaco Pastorius used fiberglass marine epoxy on an old Fender jazz bass and then sanded it smooth as glass to get that "muah" sound. They now have graphite and glass fingerboards to get the "muah".Sometimes now just good wood achieves that. I am curious your reply to Ernie as I want to know too because that sound is to die for.

Im just sitting around, watching a fire with a glass of wine enjoying this.

Ernie440 Yeah, like Relativity said, I was wondering if the board was coated to protect it from the roundwounds ... Merry Christmas fellas! Cheers! :) +2

GlezBass Now I understand what they tell me. I have that project to add epoxy or something similar to the Ibanez fretboard, but the former owner of this bass did a job of removing the frets to the fretted model and then it seems that I apply some type of varnish to the fretboard, although it is not epoxy. Using the bridge pickup in passive mode, roudwound strings, a little compressor and a chorus (Korg Pandora) I got the bass sound of this jam. It really is a very good sound with a great sustain and "mwah". As Ernie says if the strings damage the wood I consider going over the fretboard and applying some kind of synthetic resin, I still do not know whether to leave roundwound with resin or semiflatwound with the current termination.:D
I have two more fretless bass, one with flatwound strings (Thomastik) on rosewood and another flatwound on imitation synthetic resin, so it is possible to keep the strings of quality roundwound on resin to get another tone fretless, the strings of this jam They are old, I do not want to think how they sound with new quality strings and active mode :o

GlezBass I have thought of a session of brushes for this jam on my tin box, tomorrow I will try to do it if I can, you will be able to give it a magical touch with your midi violin; would be a curious jam four strings without frets "fat" and four "thin" :D +1
