Your drumming style is always fantastic Peter!! :) For latency problems I can recommend Focusrite Saffire 6 is really a great sound card without any problem of this type.+1

LeftTheLoops9-18 Latency issues , Peter? Oh how that is so frustrating. I despise latency. They could fix that if they wanted to. If it doesnt get resolved, you may want to invest in a Tascam or Fostex recorder. I am not a fan of software recording at all. Im not sure what your setup is but the driver ASIO4ALL cures alot of it for Windows and Apple.Your profile says you are using Audacity and the Asio4all driver is critical for that. +2

eGiL I 2nd the ASIO4ALL approach! Unless you have an audio-card with an ASIO driver you should install ASIO4ALL as the Windows WDM drivers give you at least 35ms latency, which is too much when recording :/ +1

LeftTheLoops9-18 ASIO4All is mandatory with Audacity it seems. What I did recently is get a Focusrite interface. I run my music desktop monitors from the back of the Focusrite. Then I set all my windows audio drivers to playback thru the Focusrite. Everything whether it be Reaper, The Windows soundcard ....and latency disappeared. Its all going thru the Asio4 all driver of the Focusrite. +2

PJE Appreciate your take Jim,
Maybe I am baised but for me Drums are the foundation and perfect timing is everything...the sound and play can be basic but if the feel is right the rest of the music shines I am just disappointed if I dont get it right for the other musicians
Cheers

GemmyF I was just liking how when we write comments about the work as an intro, it squashes the thoughts into one run-on sentence.....So I devised my little story while I listened several times.......I did notice two times it seem slow but the rest of the time - pretty tight! Latency issues Are really crazy making! I have an original, well maybe 2nd Gen Piezo pick-up and it is rough!

Cheers!

PJE I never hear your music as rough Jim :) +1

GemmyF
GemmyF I meant "rough" to over-come the latency, maybe limiting is a better word....hope you find an article that helps with the problem...it's killer!(not in a good way)

I don't use my synth as much as I had hoped because of it........and when I do there is the Cringe moments!:o
