Joao created a Beautiful progression that I find unique with his style of chord phrasing mixed with his guitar single note responses, and Kai's bass adds that deep bass jazz feeling! Joao's playing reminds me of the Great Jazz guitarist, Johnny Smith especially when he made an album with Stan Getz. I added 0:44-1:12 and 1:42-3:59.

Wonderful add Dan. I agree. This one "says" Stan Getz so much. Really a pleasure for the ear and soul. Reminds me of the good old "Stan Gets - Gilberto" Album. <3 +1

Itocpogo Thank You so much, Peter!!!! Man, it is an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as Getz but I am so far inferior to the Great Stan Getz, but I never stop trying to get a tiny bit closer. +1

Peterpingo I think you get "the Getz-feeling" pretty much in this track dear Dan. ;) +1

Peterpingo By the way. I "stole" a wonderful sax solo from one of your great adds and mixed it into a bass add I made for a "moonchild-track". I´m not sure you are mentioned besides in the title of the song. It´s track #139789 +1

The entry is very cool! I like the way you integrate the rhythm in your game and the dry sax sound convinces me:) +1

Itocpogo Thank You so much, Peter!!!! I appreciate it!!!! Sonny Rollins (Tenor sax Jazz GREAT) has been forced to stop playing at 87 years old because of health issues. In the the following interview he says he never reached the level of playing he wanted, never was satisfied with his playing and that he dedicated his life to improving his playing and had to play and practice everyday and he had tp practice all the time to feel good. I am not worthy to carry Sonny's sax case but I always felt the same way, but I am not a great sax player on the level of Sonny Rollins is. Sonny also says about his star position in improving the world is that he is not gifted in doing it but all he could do is be the finest, honest person possible and that people with respect and kindness!. Again ironically, I am the same way. I think you will find the following interview interesting: http://www.vulture.com/2017/12/jazz-icon-sonny-rollins-on-giving-up-playing-and-his-legacy.html +1

A nice reminder Dan. Unfortunately I can not share this. That's why I hear a guitarist who knows how to treat his instrument wonderfully, and a great saxophone, which wonderfully supports this mood. A great piece Dan, compliment :) +1

Itocpogo Thank You so much, Rene!!! Many decades ago I played with this Fantastic Jazz guitarist. He used to sit down when playing and when the mood hit us that we were having a great playing moment, I used to bend down playing looking at him!!!! Even for guys like us, we get those same few playing moments that is like "heaven" that may happen once every 10 gigs but when it happens it explains why we practice so much just to feel that way. I felt that I was looking at Joao as I was playing in memory of my guitarist friend. +1

abuitremorem Thanks for those words Dan! Now I understand what you mean and can even feel it, even if I almost never played together with others musically. He was a great guitarist, for me when I heard him in youtube, it brought back memories of the jazz that I heard from time to time in my youth (and which I did not like then). I can now understand that you compare Joao with him. And - thanks to your comments, I keep learning - thanks a lot! +0

Itocpogo Thanks so much, Ernie!!!! the uniqueness of Joao's playing is that although the progression is standard, his melodic phrasing is for a solo horn to play in response to his "Magic" and it was so refreshing and challenging and a very special talent of Joao! +1

Itocpogo Thank You so much, Joao!!!! Oh, Yes you do deserve praise, Joao!!! Please read my response to Ernie that describes your unique playing!! You play with joy and conviction in playing the best you can. You play wonderful intricate Jazz professions and improvisations! I am so happy when I find one of your tracks that I can add some value too! So many of your tracks are perfect without a sax. +0
