A wonderful ad from you Dan! I admire what and how you play here. At the moment I'm thinking about how far you should adapt to the theme of the base track with an ad. Here I find a musical answer.<3+1

Itocpogo Thank You so much, Rene!!!! I so much appreciate it my friend!!!! The hardest thing is for me to always improvise within the theme to build a "story". All the Greats did that so well. But it sometime sounds like they abandoned the theme but they did not if you study their solos!! The danger of abandoning the theme totally is that you start playing your favorite "licks" even if not associated with that theme. I am never satisfied that I am building a "story" within a specific theme. Franco does it very well. +1

abuitremorem Thank you Dan. That helps me. I'll think about the best way to tell a story. So far I have avoided it, although I should have known better from my professional experience. +0

Peterpingo
In my very young days I had a favorite bar in Copenhagen, an old Jazz-club. Besides a lot of wonderful nights listening to great music I remember there was literally a writing on the wall (a graffiti if you like) It said "Jazz is like a banana -You eat it on the spot". This track proves that sentence pretty good. Awesome track Dan. :)+1

Itocpogo Thank You so much, Peter!!! Love your memories!!!! Did you ever see Dexter Gordon (tenor sax) perform in Copenhagen? Dex lived there for some time. I have videos of some of his appearances in Europe. +1

Peterpingo
Peterpingo No unfortunately I did not. I know he lived here for a time though. Actually quite a few jazz musicians have been lining in my country. Back in the 60íes and 70íes Copenhagen was considered a "Jazz-mecca". That was a little before my time. at least befor I started "clubbing" :D But when i became a teen and went to high school (Music school) in the early 80íes Copenhagen still had part of these jazz clubs. One of them was Called "Montmartre" (A lot of real world class musicians played there) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp2OKLieg-8 (A little clip from way past from another great sax player and BTW. a wonderful danish Bass player (R.I.P) +0

Itocpogo In the USA, Niels was recognized as one of the Best bass players ion Jazz and he played with Dexter Gordon in "Montmartre" many times. Sonny Rollins is considered the Best tenor saxist after John Coltrane. I prefer Sonny to John but they were all GREAT with their individual "voices". The following shows the evolution of Sonny's playing over 40 years and it is"Magical" and I watched it several times that' how Good it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7We1nMIbtys +1

Peterpingo I remember (again in my high school days). The movie about Dexter. "Round Midnight". It was pretty popular i Denmark. The scenes and story war most made i Paris as far as I remember. Clint Eastwood (director) chose to use real jazz musicians for the scenes in the jazz clubs in the movie. A few of those musicians was actually danish. +0
