What a lovely track pkliesch, PaulBOwens & PJE have given us. Couldn't resist squeezing in.

DanDiplo As soon as I see Wade's name in the line up I know I'm in for something classy! The sax really helps pull the track together and gives it a tighter form as well as an obvious melodic focus. Nice work (have some Eucalyptus on me) :)+4

Wade Cheers Dan. Guess I'll have to do some rough tracks to break the pattern? Never thought of myself a having any kind of class. +1

Wade Probably 80% are done in two takes. So the beginning on the first (usually unheard) means that I'm fumbling for up to a third of the way through. By the time I'm at the end I've got it mostly figured out, so quickly hit record again and mostly get it right the second time. Occasionally it takes a third go. The trick is to have it fresh in the head. Just listening doesn't work as fast for me as forcing myself to play like in a live situation so the pressure is on to listen as well as play. Also tends to go straight into the subconscious, which (for me) is the best place to play from. +1

Ivanovitch Playing (and listening) in the moment. I can't agree more that it brings out the best... if you're armed with the skill and confidence +0

Wade It comes about by doing. Those who don't at least try will never get there. I played for some years with a fabulous guitarist friend doing backing for open mike nights. Never saw anyone bring in a chart. If you're lucky they tell you the key it's in (not always right). The job was to make them sound good, so we had to get them figured out pretty quickly. This is a similar exercise but since we're recording has more of a need for being "note perfect". +1

Ivanovitch But, in recording you do discover all those bumps and blemishes that would simply be overlooked, or even appreciated in the live setting +1

Wade Thanks Franky. Glad if I can just fit in without disrupting what's (otherwise) a fine track. +1
