That's how I normally play, but it is a bit tricky on an electronic drum. Buzz rolls which I often use on acoustic kit sound like a (quiet) machinegun. Don't know how to fix that other than changing my playing style which I'd rather not change. I have roland td1-dmk which doesn't have much tweaking options.
