Joe's walking out the last drunk and Cindy's putting up the chairs. She's a good kid, she needs to get out of this gin joint. Me, I'm sucking down my last cigarette and eyeballing a pretty nice jar. Might even have enough left over for a bottle after I pay rent. Not quite ready to go home....a couple more minutes...

This reminds me of a Paris evening in 1989, I was young, Ba'be Bridgette was young, the wine was a little older but the cobblestone sidewalks, the flickering lights and the midnight air had their own plans for us ... where is that young man today, still with his bass in tow, looking for the next piano bar and one more glass of wine with a stranger on the Avenue des Champs Elysees; and one more song to play alongside a pianist on a corner stage to small gathering of locals just living out their time in the city of enlightenment. These memories I'll take to my grave, and this song will play again and again as I continue to remember Paris - this is heaven, this is a perfect song. I'm a better soul for having heard it. +2

JoeOnBass It was a trip to Paris many years ago when I was 19, performing for pennies and living the life. This truly brought me back. it enriched my day to celebrate those memories for a minute. Thank you. +1
