Main Line Back To Paris
MDN posted a piano piece that took me back to being 19, in Paris and trying to eek out the daily bread on a pocket full of francs from the night before in a roadside piano bar. So, I played along to a walking jazz piece today. Forgive the irritating sound of the sliding fingers, the trebley-toned bass is set to the rock stuff I've been recording recently.
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate, and peace to everyone else. This track ...

I don't return to these bass roots too often anymore, and I should. It's my loss to play so much rock and roll and not enjoy the sound of a bass just walking around. Thanks for listening Shi. :-)

LOL, we all started somewhere, my dad played jazz drums and loved R&B, then I discovered this new band Twister Sister. Thanks for giving it a listen.

Oooh, never heard you do jazz, but you do it very fluently - a natural! I love a meandering walking bass, sounds so great. Great ensemble piece!

Thanks Dan, the stuff I did when I was younger, lol, we all learned jazz first. I have done a few jazzy pieces on here, and about 40 tracks with a poppy jazz feeling with Markeys and Alice Leonz. Then I started with the rock stuff. Maybe it's time I get jazzy again. Thanks for the listen. :-)

That’s a really nice walking line Joe. Something I like to hear is a bass player who gives the quarter notes their full value which in turn gives this a great driving forward momentum. You really let the notes ring. Love it😎
