FrankieJ Always loved that swing feel be it country or jazz. Guessing country/western swing came from jazz.

Wade There was a Western Swing band leader named Spade Cooley. Are you old enough to remember him? He had a TV show in the late 1940s to 1950s. All band members were slickly dressed in cowboy outfits (clean cowboys?), so kind of hokey, but the music was great fun. +1

Wade Yes he had a bit of a bad temper...to put it mildly. Convicted of 1st degree murder of his wife. Kind of ironic when his theme song was "shame shame on you". +1
