rootshell thx Ron, I still can't find a good distortion tone yet. was so used to my zoom pedal, it's taking me a bit to find something I like. +1

Riffraff
Riffraff The beauty of it is you can still use your Zoom pedal too. Load a speaker IR with Reaverb, Run your Zoom pedal to your interface with one of your favorite distortion tones then open TH-U and load a preset with the effects you want to use. Scroll over to the amp player in the patch you have loaded in TH-U and right mouse click over it. A drop down box will open. Click on Remove. Now you have your Zoom distortion and TH-U effects. Adjust the effects & add/remove them as desired. As long as you have a speaker IR loaded 1st it will sound great. You need that because the TH-U IR is part of the amp you will remove from the patch. Once you have it dialed in save the preset in TH-U. +1

rootshell i haven't tried that yet. any good videos on chaining effects? i never know where exactly to place stuff, like the gate at the beginning of the chain or the end, where to place reverb, etc. +1

Riffraff
Riffraff Start with the effects the way they are set up in the TH-U plugin and remove the amp. If your Zoom doesn't need the EQ or they color them in a way you don't like remove those too and just use the time based pedals and the SPX90 model. I don't think you can build an effects chain that doesn't include a TH-U amp model from scratch to use with another amp, pedal, modeller or preamp. You have to open an existing patch with the TH-U amp and remove the TH-U amp then you can do whatever you want with it. They are more or less set up in an order that makes sense. There are no rules for pedals but I like my reverb after the delay, the gate should be 1st in that plugin. You can stack delays and set the 1st delay for 300ms and the 2nd for 500ms. Did you download some cab IR's yet? That's what makes all of the other stuff usable. https://redwirez.com/pages/the-marshall-1960a-ir-pack +1

Riffraff
Riffraff I get it. I've had a new interface sitting in a box for 8 months and haven't set it up yet because I don't want to deal with fixing everything that won't work the minute I change it. I did set it up in a laptop I plan to move to when this crappy PC dies. I thought that day came 2 days ago when I hit the power button to turn this PC on and nothing happened. Ice water in veins moment. Fortunately it was just the power cable had pulled out. I avoided change once again. :P:D:D haha! +1
