The piece is broken down into several movements. The first 2 verses sound like the tears of an old man lamenting his age. They are followed by a chorus with a more cheerful rhythm which seems to indicate that we must take life on the bright side. Perhaps, but the blues still lurks in the 4th movement... Finally 3 other choruses take over with guitars that clash to move resolutely forward.
