Eric's template is an Excellent lesson in composing and performing quality Avant-garde jazz which is different from free jazz. Avant-garde jazz emphasizes structure and organization and is stylistically different in that it lacks Free Jazz's thoroughly improvised nature and is fully or partially composed. Brad and Kras skillfully build a sheets of sound "soundscape" that raises the excitement with more structure using counterpoint and improv. I tried to create a layer on top that supports their soundcape. I added 0:26-2:26, ...

Fantastic ad Dan for a track just like that. Compliments to everyone. The new music uses compositional and improvised parts, it seems that musicians are now trained to be able to do both. After that, personal preferences decide. I read that in a book about jazz in Germany. Convincing.

Thank You very much, Rene!!! I appreciate it very much!!! Formal training is great but the real training is by listening a lot to "Sounds" that motivate you and then practicing more, and more and more!!! l Thanks so much for listening!!!

You made this more lyrical and musically accessible, as if it was written for your solo. It also highlights what an exceptional listener you are to pull this off on a track like this. It feels to me like this music gave you wings or something—words just aren’t enough to express how incredible I think this is.

So very nice of you!!!Thank You very much, RD!!! I appreciate and humbled by your very gracious comment so much!!! I always try to do my best and sometimes it surprises me and many times disappoints me. The only method I have is definitely listening but the key for me is constant practice and sometimes it pays off!! But you are right, I listened to this many times to get the feel of the music and then when I recorded I was dedicated to listening again!!! Thanks so much for listening!!!

Yeah, I really like that kind of music!! Unfortunately I don't know one else in my environment who can relate to this kind of music. It is so exciting what you've added here Dan !! You really built a fantastic layer over this cool template, without lulling the track, you orient yourself to the existing and together you create such an exciting soundscape that literally sweeps you away. Awesome Dan !!! Fantastic track from this cool band !!
