I used to go to the railroad tracks\r\nI loved the sound of those clickerty clacks\r\nCouldn\'t afford to ride on a train\r\nBut I stood and watched it go there and back again\r\n\r\nI saw the passengers pass on their way\r\nThey were going somewhere but I had to stay\r\nSometimes they\'d wave and I would wave back\r\nI guess I\'ll always live on the wrong side of the track\r\n\r\nOne day I decided to jump on board\r\nAfter someone had pulled the emergency cord\r\nAn old cow was stuck on the line\r\nNobody saw me, I felt fine\r\n\r\nThen the ticket inspector was moving near\r\nNowhere to hide, that was quite clear\r\nMoved down the train \'til I got to the back\r\nWhen it slowed at a bend I jumped down to the track\r\n\r\nNow I\'m walking back home in my worn out shoes\r\nand I got those railroad blues\r\n\r\nIf only I could get away to somewhere more exciting\r\nFame and fortune down the line but I\'m out in the cold and the wind is biting\r\nI ain\'t never been nowhere outside of my home Town\r\nAll the World is out there, no wonder I\'m feeling down\r\n
