Oli suggested I took a pop at this old template of his. He also kindly supplied the necessary time and tempo changes for me to map into my DAW.

I've been a fan of Dream Theater since their very first album came out in 1989. I remember sitting with a drumming friend having my socks utterly blown off by Mike Portnoy's drumming.

Anyway, I don't have any Mike Portnoy hats in my wardrobe. There are some drummers out there who are ...

A laugh and cry for the lengthy description. Confessions of a perfectionist! Does it work?..YES! Does it reach me in emotional and intellectual levels?..yes! Are you some other drummer playing or a "wanna-be" of that drummer. Nope, it's you, and that's just fine.

A great epoch from OliVBee that you've made come back alive.

mpointon It was a great challenge, Oli. One I will revisit as I'd like another go at it some time. Ironically, the most-edited bit is one of the 4/4 sections! +1

mpointon Yep. I cocked up both sets of the china-smacking pairs and they were hard to repair. I didn't realise quite how bad it was until I sat down to mix. :( +1

mpointon Thanks, Oli. I would like another go at this. Compared to all my other uploads today, the drums sound flat. Now I've heard it through a fair few more times I think I'll take another pop tomorrow. +1

Can you play the track player?

Start and stop, right? That's easy... if you do not have to drop your instrument while doing it.
Get to know the keyboard shortcuts and control the player without ever dropping your plectrum again.
Makes practice and jamming a cinch.
