Oli suggested I took a pop at this old template of his. He also kindly supplied the necessary time and tempo changes for me to map into my DAW.

I've been a fan of Dream Theater since their very first album came out in 1989. I remember sitting with a drumming friend having my socks utterly blown off by Mike Portnoy's drumming.

Anyway, I don't have any Mike Portnoy hats in my wardrobe. There are some drummers out there who are just beyond reach of normal people and Mike is one of them. This is my best approximation.

For anyone who wants to add, Oli can furnish you with the time changes. In order, they are, 4/4, 7/4, 4/4, 5/8, 4/4 (last bit I didn't record on but there's bar of 2/4 in there).

Anyway, this is a blinding template from OliVBee. Very Dream Theater. This is my overplayed effort and I hope you enjoy. Yes, I need to practice my double kick!

kennyadrykennyadry Ha! Even if you didn't mention Mike Portnoy here, I can definitely hear the influence! I think it helps Olivbee created an progressive like template to get the MP in you!

GirardGirard I don't listen to mainstream music anymore. That's because I listen to stuff here. Pointon is my favorite drummer in the world right now, not just on Wikiloops.

WHen he starts in with the cymbal crashing, and tempo changes, it hits me hard. Love it
