Another mixing experiment (and getting yet more funkiness out of my system!), this time trying some multi-band compression on the overall kit. As per #43042, I'm using my recently-restored Premier XPK 14x5 wood snare drum. I'm kinda liking it. It'll never beat my Ludwig snare but it's much better than I thought it would be.

I love Art's templates. In fact, the very first jam I added to was one of his. As per the others today, I just hit record and blagged my way through it with no idea of what was coming up, just watching the waveform in my DAW for clues. Hence the ending section sounding like my drums fell off a cliff.

Enjoy.

Careful Martin, if you get any funkier than this, they'll start taxing you.. ;) ;)

Thanks! My hi-hat sound is 90% overheads, the mic doesn't seem to add much! They're 13" Zildjian K/Z hats. Love them as they're so expressive. I traded my 14" Zildjian New Beats for them!

Bizarre that my 200th also happened to be on the same person's template as my very first! Total coincidence!
