Another funk track from the prolific Kenny although this one possesses some funny rhythmic illusions was a bit more troublesome for me as there were two approaches:

1) Work with the main riff
2) Play straight through the main riff.

I decided to try approach 1) and work with the riff. I have no idea if this has succeeded and please say so if it doesn't as I'd appreciate the feedback. In effect, I'm playing alternating bars of 7/8 and 9/8 so the pattern resolves every other bar, as per Kenny's main riff. I don't know if this makes it harder or easier as playing straight through the riff sounded awkward too.

The final section I deliberately played straight to give a base for soloists to work with.

If it's rubbish, say so and I'm happy to try again with a more straightforward pattern!

HD drums have no reverb.

kennyadrykennyadry Martin! I can't get over this I keep on listening to it, I realize how difficult the different time signature you were using here. But you effortlessly put it on the right order.. brilliancy at it's best..!

PJEPJE Now this really is cool & classy drumming Martin - love your time signiture changes and dynamics -in my humble opinion they work perfectly and you still keep the smooth flowing throughout - your HH and snare sound is SPOT ON and some great HH flourishes with very clever little fills too - a masterful add to keeny's super track :)
