Fantastic Alex Lifeson meets EVH impression from Ake here. And I couldn't resist adding a spot of Rush-style drums. I'm no match for Neal 'The Professor' Peart but I know a few of his signature party tricks so thought I'd crack them open here. From his trademark busy ride pattern to his pushed cymbal punctuations to his fiddling around with time, I chucked 'em all in and saw what happened.

Notice the cheeky impression of the intro to YYZ at the start :)

Enjoy.

No reverb on HD drums.

EDIT: Forgot to mention: I forgot line up my take to the beginning of Ake's track when I was ready to mix down. If you use the HD drums, you will need to align it with Ake's template as they won't align from bar one in your DAW. Sorry!

schwaglrschwaglr Yeah! That ride pattern really makes the intro for me. I also like the snare rhythm in the even numbered bars there. Great overall sound! Awesome work!

WadeWade So good to hear this style carried to the max by our own pros. Not "in the style of" but taken to better than the originals.
