On a scale of one to ten, how much fun did I have recording this track? Yes. It's like some unholy alliance of the RHCP and Lenny Kravitz getting together to reimagine the Starsky & Hutch theme tune using Disaster Area's speaker stack and Spinal Tap's 11-rated amps. Fantastic.

Oddly, this track Stan uploaded against one of my templates! I felt I should return the favour when he reposted it as a stand-alone template.

This is the first and only take I did of the drums. I'd listened through a couple of times to get the structure but after that I went for it. There's a ton of mistakes in there but I decided the attitude and energy outweighed any rough edges. There's a monstrous stick collision, a mis-timed triplet fill, etc., in there. But hell - it's rock 'n' roll with some serious funk.

Epic fun. Thanks, Stan.

No reverb on the HD drums.

Enjoy.

Thanks, man. The tracks which work best are the ones you just let rip at and jam! This one went particularly to plan!

I guess we can say it's "funky fresh"^^... Pure pleasure, pure energy, I'd like to say something brillant, but I guess sometimes music can express better than words what we feel... So listen to this guys ^^ This guitar track is based on two basic parts. I've spontaneously followed the drums track, but one take you are listening to is a totally improvised first take at 2:45... Arrangements are made around it. It's a pure magic moment when something you are improvising sounds... Martin is a wizard he managed to join me in that particular moment improvising himself... It sounds like stage energy. Thanks for this Martin... Next time I go to UK I'll bring my guitar... ^^
