First an admission: I intended to use brushes. But they fell apart on me during a take. So brushes are now dead until I can replace them.

I tried to keep it gentle and subtle, going for a standard shuffle, opening onto the ride for Titi's splendid solo. I attempted the old 'jazz open hi-hat' thing but it sounded, to me, contrived, hence trying a traditional shuffle instead. Doing the whole 'jazz ride' thing through the whole track left it, to me, with nowhere to go during the solo and I wanted to keep it discrete for JDF's excellent voice. So I ditched that idea too. Based on that, I played as little as possible, basically.

I hope I got away with it. I'll have to revist this track when I replace my brushes. I think sticks are just a little too harsh for this, but I wanted to give it a go anyway.

Enjoy.

No reverb on HD drums.

The sign of a great drummer is knowing how to sit back, make it all sound easy, and let the light shine on others.

Shoulders no better. But I'm not playing much in between times which helps. And watch out: I'm booking Portugal next year for holiday!

I like your explanations always detailed.
I am often dumb because I do not master your language... I am just here for playing ;) and apologize for it with all.
I appreciate the minimalism of your play a lot. Effective by the choice which you made in the use of your instruments.
Merci beaucoup Martin :)
