Nice one Klaudia. I usually take the bass directly into the interface and then into the DAW. Add amp modelling, compression and EQ as desired in the DAW. I you have a good amp and cabinet you can also mike that , but it's much more difficult to get good results that way in my experience. +1

Start and stop, right? That's easy... if you do not have to drop your instrument while doing it.
Get to know the keyboard shortcuts and control the player without ever dropping your plectrum again.
