January 9th

There is severe flooding in my County, people having to be rescued from cars and houses.

I've noticed a few spiritual titles in the new uploads recently, it reminded me that I have a large box labelled "Zen Den" packed away so I opened it today. I have oil burners, candles, chimes, bells, many saris, posters, and cushions. A Chinese fan, Japanese lettered cloth, lamps, beads and crystals. I can't find a room in this house that has a positive feng shui vibe. I want to find somewhere peaceful to meditate, do yoga and listen to relaxing music.

Icy cold today - I returned my headset for a refund - off to warm up some soup now, have a peaceful night <3

The day has included sweating and bad smells.

-I went to the gym in the morning and in the evening I sweated with a song made by Rootshell. The song made me sweat more than the gym.

-In the morning I noticed a mistake that I had already made many times. I had forgotten my protein drink in the shaker for a few days. If death uses deodorant, I could imagine it smelling just like that.

-This is the fourth day without candy. It also makes me sweat.

I've eaten too much rubbish today and now I feel sick, it's a side effect of feeling down, will I never learn! I tried to cheer myself by writing a stupid song, now everyone else feels sick. :o

It's so fascinating to read these entries, I feel I know some of you a little better.
My day started with having to make it on foot to the store to get milk for my tea. The sidewalks were very treacherous but determined I made it safely there and back. I wrote a new song today that I will probably record tomorrow. This winter I am in a cozy warm flat which is much better than where I was before. When I'm not thinking about music, I work on Art or crafting. I also teach Mayan Astrology. (I said I was a certified hippy). Its been 6 months since my dog died and that knocked me sideways but music keeps pulling me up and so I am very grateful to my loopy family who always come looking for me if I'm absent too long.😁

Today was a quiet day. I have spent this day in the studio. By studio, I mean the corner of my sofa, where my laptop and sound card are located.

Even though I played several songs today, I only finished one song. Well, one song is a good amount per day.
I guess I'll watch an NHL game that's about to start. I don't really follow any sport other than hockey anymore.

Good to see a couple of new 'diarists' taking the plunge because I get the feeling that a little apathy might creep in to the thread as time goes on, hope not.

January 11th

* Leicester played an F A Cup game today and won 6 - 2 so that was a surprise... but it was opposition in a lower league, waiting to see who we get in the next round.

* I've had 2 goes at my "Lederhosen" song now but deleted them both. I'm surprised that wikiloops, being a German site, doesn't have more Oompah band backing tracks :D

* Still nibbling unnecessary sweet treats all day, I'm blaming the cold weather and the fact I'm stuck indoors. I did walk around the block later so that's OK then :)

* Made a nice video for a song I did called "Feeling so empty inside" no, it's not about food, it's another 'wallowing in self pity' type of thing. I'm so good at those :o

During depression, it's good to do things that you have the energy for. The main thing is to do something that feels good. They don't have to be big things.

For example, walking outside is a perfectly fine activity. :)

You're so right Aito - I think agoraphobia is a phobia I don't have yet :)
Actually I cheered up a little when I saw that 151 people had viewed my depressing song since I uploaded it 7 hours ago. Maybe it's better than I thought ! :)

A cold morning here, woke up feeling inspired to do great things today but how quickly that mindset transformed into negative thoughts about every inspiration. I find myself hypnotized by small birds gobbling up breadcrumbs from the bird house outside the window distracting me from writing lyrics or coming up with new ideas. I was also sidetracked by watching a Rick Beato video interviewing Tommy Emmanuel and got to thinking "how can anyone be that good at playing guitar?" Of coarse the answer is obvious just from watching him play "Practice, Practice, Practice!"
No Premier League Soccer on NBC this morning so will try again later:)

Would it surprise you to learn that there's a large number of Morris dancers in Germany, bells and all?

spent half of the day researching if adding a mixer to my setup would relieve me of having to restart the DAW every time I switched from the Yamaha synth config with the Steinberg driver to the other config with the external audio interface. Unlike mac, windows can only run one driver at a time. Read somewhere that running both configs through a mixer could help. Didn't get very far so I deliberately parked my car across 4 parking spaces when I went shopping in the evening. Didn't lift my mood as I was the only customer.

Received an unexpected message on Wikiloops that made me smile.

Just for fun I tried EQ'ing some of my past musical misfortunes. At least my mistakes sound better now. Went to bed wondering about the difference between movement and progress.

Sunday 12th January

* I watched Tamworth v Spurs today. I like these Cup games between minnows and giants. Tamworth are a team of part timers, their pitch slopes, artificial grass, portacabins for changing rooms and no hot water.... but they held the Premier team to a draw but sadly lost in extra time.

* I watched Arsenal get knocked out on penalties against Man United, then we got drawn to play Man U in the next round.

* I've been trying to do a vocal all afternoon, a slow airy one, I did it but I'll wait a bit before posting. I've learned that these things never sound so good the next day :)

* I have a problem when I come away from my pc, I either want to nibble something or I move furniture, today it was furniture again so I'm typing this in a new place - I don't have a phone so it's a big bright screen for me and I sit really close - still haven't replaced my specs :(

Dinner = Chicken Hotpot and Swiss Roll

I spent my evening watching videos on Youtube. I tried to learn about bass amps and preamp pedals. In the end, all I learned was that I'm too poor to make music.😂

Otherwise, the day went normally:
- I drank too much coffee in the morning
-In the afternoon I went to Escrima practice.
- In the evening I played the bass.

Sunday morning always means a traditional English fried breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast and jam to start the day. Its usually consumed while watching an assortment of network political news programs on TV, and if that doesn't give you indigestion, nothing ever will.:o
It was another cold but sunny morning here but burning some logs in the wood stove soon warmed things up in the house until the sun showed it's face.
I managed to finish a couple of templates and upload them leaving the rest of the day free for the usual Sunday activity of doing as little as possible, at least anything that requires physical energy.:W
Lunch consisted of tuna salad sandwich with sour cream and cheddar flavored potato chips, or crisps as I once called them before swimming the Atlantic in the late seventies. I remember eating crisps in the darkness of the Odeon' upper circle when I was a kid and accidently eating the little blue bag of salt!:@ I'm so glad for the pre-salted packs we get in this modern world.:)

I had this dream
"Organize this summer a concert in France in Berry with musicians met on wikiloops who would agree to
- prepare by June 2025 via wikiloop 20 to 30 titles to ensure a 1h30 concert
- look for 1 or more concert dates in my region (concert given for free or not)
- invite the musicians to my home to do rehearsals and perform in public (stay of a maximum of one week)
- share the costs "...

send me a private message before January 25 if you are interested....
