We have experts here like Anne and Shi who are able to write fine poetry on any given musical structure.
Don't wait for lyrics before having music.

So i'd say Slon - or whoever - , go ahead and build a basic track, hopefully very open to any style of music than others might add. Dick's idea basically, that I liked.
Then wait - I am sure there is creative input coming !!

i agree with Professor Lutz (and thanks from Shi and me!) - the emotion of the music will set the tone for lyrics.

Also I plan to add a version with some rhythm section to make it easier for the singers. And version with some midi drums - for bass players.

Now we have one (first) bass line.

But I think that we need several more bass lines. With fretless, for example, would be great!
we can use different lines of different bass players - for example, in verse plays one man, in the chorus - the other ... This will allow more players to participate and It will allow us to select the tastiest chunks !

I like Dick's idea. Going to take a bit of work to get a few good tracks. Here's an example of some chords I came up with.

The number after the chords is number of quarter note beats ( down strums ) 4/4 time. Chorus is to be bold and soft, sung out by choir of a few singers.

I'll record something soon so you can hear it.

Fmaj7 x2 Am7 x2 Gx4

I want to see my children grow
I need the sunsets and sunrises
I like the seas and forest
I love life in all its guises

I like to touch the wet grass
I bastard from early morning
I need a drink of fresh air
and hear the purling of brook

Em G
Do I want too much?
Em G
Do not we all deserve this?

chorus
C x2 Am x 2 G x 4

If tomorrow war starts / Если завтра война
If tomorrow war starts / Wenn morgen der Krieg
If tomorrow war starts / Si demain la guerre
If tomorrow war start / Si mañana la guerra
nothing will be more in the world

Nice to hear from you Slim! Very glad you are working with this and looking forward to hear your new idea=)

couple of lines I scribbled yesterday...

Hope I will not be killed tonight
As well as my lovely friends
And the girl that I tenderly love
Will not shed bitter tears today...

Whether we can to open wide
Our eyes for the reality?
If we all say NO to war
Is the War will not run away?

Do I want too much?
Do not we all deserve this?

I will agree with Uloisius, that it could be very fun to mix in a few different languages vocally if possible.
I know its probably harder said then done, but still a very wikiloop thing to do.

Of course I'm in. Peace is my main objective when it comes to activism and I do everything I can towards it, in whatever small way I can.

Love the teddy bear, Baer! Reminds me of my husband's bear, Hector. He takes lots of pictures of him doing various things. ;)

'Winds Of Change' atmosphere meets 'Cannon Rock' type of global instrumental video collaboration?

I can't sing or write for quids, but I can video and bend an Australian anti-war string up to pitch in protest for a 3 second spot on a collaboration music video if needed.

Help ! How do I get email updates from the forum? I is a dummy.
