Whew....now that I have just picked myself up from the floor, I am now heading into the University of Youtube to brush up on vocal mixing 101. Pointers to any other resources would be appreciated. Thanks heaps DrStrgeglv - your comment has made my day :)

youtube has what you need- quick tips:
1- EQ EVERYTHING
2- LOUDER IS BETTER
3- CUT LOW FREQUENCIES (vocals and guitars)
4- SUPPLY A HD TRACK
5- ADJUST YOUR MONITORS TO MATCH YOUR CAR STEREO.
6- ADJUST YOUR CAR STEREO FOR YOUR FAVORITE PROFESSIONALLY MASTERED SONGS AND DON'T MOVE THE SETTINGS- EVER AGAIN! LISTEN TO YOUR TRACKS IN THE CAR AND TAKE NOTE OF VOLUME... TOO MUCH BASS? NOT ENOUGH?, ETC. THEN GO BACK TO YOUR RECORDER AND ADJUST UNTIL THEY MATCH.
THE END! +2

P.S.- Music is communication of emotion- You got that naturally. Arnosolo, Ernie, and Lenny are great examples to demonstrate that transfer through various instruments. A vocalists job is to interpret in words and tone what they tell you.

Alright Dad, had time to sleep and sober up... Here's another thread of strangeglove "wisdom"...
Listen to the general output levels on the mixes above, and make sure yours matches in punch. All three of those guys make consistently SOLID mixes. They'll always be nice but if you want to, "WOW" them make yours hit the same level at the same volume setting. +0
