I wasn't totally happy with my mixing of my previous bass add (#117292) so with some tips from GlezBass I think I've got a better result here. Still, I like eGiL's bass add (#117298) much better than mine, so you probably want to grab that one instead for remixes.

Now i can hear the bass more! :) Love your bass line and playing! <3 :) If anything i think i would have EQ'ed the keys and drums a bit, seems to fight the bass frequencies a bit ;) +1

nadrek Yeah I did that. Probably should have done more! I found this a tricky track to mix. Lots of overlap. +1

eGiL Yeah! That Wurlitzer gave me a headache until i found the frequency that was fighting my bass :D I feel like making music is about 25% playing and 75% sound engineering :P +2

nadrek Definitely. When you try to mix yourself you appreciate how effortless the mix masters make it look! +1

nadrek Actually it's not a Wurli, it's a more unusual instrument - the Pianet T from Hohner. It's quite bassy actually, which is probably where our issues came from. https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/usedphotosna/62206145_614.jpg +0

A very melodic template, I like very well!:) +1
GlezBass
This version is much more audible than the original in relation to the bass line, it is perceived much more clear although as he comments eGiL sometimes more than engineer of sound that of musician, in my humble opinion in this jam it agrees the tones of the Wurlitzer, the bass drum sometimes and the tone of the bass, and when this happens it is difficult to differentiate the tones because they move perhaps in the same space of Hz, anyway it is much better mix
With this method of trial / success / error we have and we are learning all he he he :D

Sound nice Nadrek :) Very interesting topic...being a Newbie I can only absorb it right now, but I will mention that I started looking into Brainworx's bx_digital (and similar) plugins to see if I can solve this type of issue using spatial separation of problem frequency bands. +1

Yeah, mix is much better and your bass playing is fantastic on any mix! +1

Can you play the track player?

Start and stop, right? That's easy... if you do not have to drop your instrument while doing it.
Get to know the keyboard shortcuts and control the player without ever dropping your plectrum again.
Makes practice and jamming a cinch.
