I thought I'd start a new 'QUESTIONS' thread.

Let's begin with....

Which album in your collection do you play most often ?

Whose concert/gig have you been to more than once ?

a) It's a hard one, i always had periods where I would grind one Album to dust, and it changes. So I will list some of these which I listened probably hundreds of times (Started buying records in 1975, still have most of them and still listen to them)

Pink Floyd: Animals + Wish you were here

Allman Brothers: Live at the Filmore east
Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac: Vintage Years
Jimi Hendrix: Axis bold as love

b) BB King, Peter Green, Eric Clapton

c) Hearing more: Nowadays with Spotify, Youtube and Wikiloops you can choose any style and Genre you want and get a lot of tracks. So i'm good.
Hearing less: Anything singing with Autotune, AI generated tracks, Stupid lyrics

d) I once met a famous guitarist in a pub in my town in 1989, where he was having a holiday, did not recognize him. Said to him: Hello, I'm TG, who are you?" He said "don't you know who I am??" I said "No, should I???" He laughed and said "No". But then he told me who he was - this is the time before Internet - and I had a "I'm not worth it" moment. However, I asked him if he wants to jam, and we went to his rented flat and played for hours until the police came knocking on the door at 3 in the morning. Great memory :)

Hmmm, difficult one. When I was still a juvenile up to my late teen years, maybe anything Beatles, Billy Joel, but also Pink Floyd? Later, more Jazz until some time ago maybe Youn Sun Nah. Nowadays, more often some Wikiloops albums...

Not lately, no. But I remember some good and funny times both with the bands I've played with, and also some adorable dance of Elias during the '24 Wikiloops live gathering. :)

I was trying to post my answers but unfortunately I never got past the first question.
Just like MySounds, I play a Classical piece regularly (Rachmaninoff 2. 3. Adagio)
I wanted to post a SHORT video but the URL didn't work here.
Anyway I was trying lots of versions to see if any worked.... the result, I got so tired of listening over and over to the same part that I think I'll never play it again now :D

I've never been to anyone's concert or gig twice. I like surprises and something new.

I'd like to hear more songs with interesting lyrics instead of one short phrase repeated constantly.

I once clapped when I thought a performance had ended but it was just an artistic pause. I was the only one :o

a) interesting question about the album playing. although i have a few albums, i don't necessarily listen to them as much anymore. i find myself listening to whatever the youtube algorithm suggests to me at this point. a lot of it is heavy metal in genre, usually small names or indie bands, nothing that i've usually heard of before.

b) i think i've seen Pantera and System of a Down more than once.

c) i was just recently re-listening to Slave's "Slide" track. that sorta psychedelic funk style. i wish i had more of that style/genre of music, with that throbbing bass and crazy guitar sound, plus horns etc.

d) i was recently thinking about the music i grew up listening to. my dad had a variety of 8-tracks and i would listen to them all. Slave, Kool and The Gang, The Commodores, Steppenwolf, CCR, Humble Pie, Elvis, Bette Midler (i loved "The Rose"), The Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Eddie Rabbit, Allman Brothers, and so much more. the interesting thing, to me, is that it explains why i do like a lot of genres.

1. Well the first question's the hardest being there's been so many albums in my collection that I've played over and over again Like Fleetwood Mac's Rumors or The Beatle's Rubber Soul, The Eagle's Hotel California and various country albums by my favorite artists like Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. But the one album that stands out in my mind was the album that introduced me to John Prine back in the 70s. I literally played it non stop for months and still never get tired of the raw simplicity of his songs, they've left me a Prine fan forever and a collector of his music.

I had the idea that we could have a character [like a cat, dog, bird, armadillo or iguana] and any member could log in and use it for fun... put words in the character's mouth as it were. But of course that would be far too complicated I'm sure!

Which album in your collection do you play most often ?

Haven't listened to a CD album for years. I do tracks via YouTube and headphones on the iPad. Got a couple of albums on the handphone, listen to Rumours, Trilogy, Close To The Edge, Making Movies when travelling.

Whose concert/gig have you been to more than once ?
Stopped going to concerts circa 1982. They went stadium and I disliked the impersonality of the experience. Saw many 70s rock bands at 500 seat venues in single spectacular brilliance. ELP in 1972, Thin Lizzy in 1974 and Queen in 1975 stand out.

Which genre would you like to hear more of (and less of) ?
I'm a 70s rock and punk child, but I try to listen to all styles with an open mind.

Do you have an interesting or funny music related thing that happened to you ?

Was singing with a band No Sweat from 1986 to 1988 doing RocknBlues covers. Got a 10am call from the guitarist saying he'd been given a gig for 3pm that day. I was good for it but our bass and drums were not available. So he'd roped in his brother for bass and his drummer buddy to do it. Rehearsed 4 numbers at noon, drove to the gig, set up and did the show. Great fun which went down a storm. Pure rock and roll. One of the gigs of my life. Loved it.

If you check your YouTube analytics you can see which Countries play you most. I don't get so many plays now but at the height of my activity I found I had a good following in
'Russia and Japan'
I understood why Japanese listeners played me because I used to use traditional Oriental instrumentation. However I never understood why I went down well in Russia but I don't think I'll be going there to find out :D

A2 there is a whole section in this world that does not like any music at all, I am sure I will be hated there as well ;)

The passing of DOLLY PARTON reminded me how shocked people were that KAREN CARPENTER died.
I'd like to hear them jamming together. Two unforgettable voices, Karen deep and Dolly bright. Their two styles would bring perfect harmony... Pop ballads and Country story telling.
