I can't choose one song, so I'll put a song by the band W.a.s.p here, because they're coming to Kuopio this month. Or at least I hope so, but I doubt it a bit, because the band just canceled a few gigs.

One of the best soundtracks is from the movie Last Action Hero. Of course, Girl You Will Be Woman Soon from the movie Pulp Fiction is also a great song, as Rob Zombie has also done a lot of good music for movies. Guns and Roses was great in the movie Terminator 2. The CCR song always plays in movies when an American helicopter is flying in Vietnam....

I just can't choose.

Roots, it sounds very much like you playing there, maybe you have a 'DREAM' for a song of yours to be featured in a film - are you a "Warrior" or a worrier? :D

I listened to a lot of that band growing up and George Lynch, the guitar player, is one my favorite guitarists. I'm sure there's influence from them in my playing :)

If I remember my dreams, they are always OCD-related, so I prefer not to remember them.

On the other hand, I’d make a good waltz band bassist in my dreams. I used to be good at counting to three. 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3...😂

When I'm awake, I dream about being in a good band and having my own songs.
Right now, a good DI pedal and an overdrive would be enough for me, too.

There was a question earlier about whether we have any secret skills that might surprise readers. I do have one: I can waltz reasonably well. In fact, it’s the only way I know how to dance.🙂

I don't dream much now but for years I had 2 dreams that involved music. In one I was playing a grand piano really well, it was a wonderful feeling. The second dream had me Ice Skating to some beautiful romantic music, I never fell over and it was such a free feeling. I wish I had those dreams now :) <3

I've had this discussion with my cousin a few times, he dreams about songs and keeps a guitar nearby in his bedroom. I'm envious because I've never ever dreamt about playing or a song/melody, etc.

my dreams are random, mostly influenced by something that may have happened recently or within the day.

I rarely dream while I sleep, except for recently, since I quit smoking using nicotine patches. My dreams are often incomprehensible, and they fade quickly once I wake up.
My musical dreams are the result of daydreaming. For example, when I play with some of you here, I assign faces to each piece of music. Yet for some of the people I can see, these faces are different from their real ones, and I hear what we could do musically. I’ve never managed to play what comes out of these daydreams.

For some time now my dreams tend to be stressful and include jobs or people from my past where I'm unable to accomplish the simplest of tasks, I've had a few music related dreams following the same theme, trying to write lyrics or play music without being able to get past the first line.

That is exactly the same problem I have. In my dreams, I often do work that starts off well but eventually becomes difficult and impossible to complete.

I suppose that’s the reward you get for a bad burnout 🙂

I found this video interesting and a possible cause for problems of this kind. I've always been a procrastinator.

I need to explain the thinking behind today's question.

If you've heard of The Butterfly Effect you'll know that very small desisions, encounters and happenings can change your future. I was wondering what each of The Beatles would be doing today if they hadn't been in the right place at the right time and met the right people.
John was at Art College (might still be alive today), Paul wanted to go into Education, George was a trainee Electrician (he would probably still have died) and Ringo might have stayed as a drummer doing local gigs. The Question is :-

" How might your life be different now if certain 'happenings' HAD or HADN'T happened? "

Wow that's a good one Shamika! I had quite a few junctions in my life that made a big impact.

I will chose one: I was a young buck 18 years old, full of myself, standing in an Airport in Germany with a bunch of other passengers and their relatives, waiting for information about our flight, when suddenly it was displayed that the flight would have to be delayed by 6 hours :O

So I was going to leave the airport and come back later when I saw that one of the passengers, a very VERY pretty girl, was sitting down in the waiting area, and her parents leaving. So I told my own guys to go on, "I'll wait here. No need to go back and return" (which made them quite happy, too, not having to come again later).

So I strategically sat down a few seats away from this girl, and like a male version of a Sirene attempted to ensnare this lovely creature. Only instead of singing irresistible songs I took out the Yamaha guitar and started strumming some sweet chords.

It did not take longer than 4, 5 minutes and there she came, asking me for a light.

Obviously at that moment in 1984 I thought I caught her, only to discover that actually it was me who was snared by the future Mrs. Gee :D

If that plane left on time, who knows what my life would have turned out...

(The picture was taken by he future Mrs. Gee a couple of days later)

The last year of high school there is usually lots of "testing" (state tests and metrics) that go on. We'd gather in the cafeteria for these tests, all the seniors (seniors are those who are in their last year of high school in America). A bunch guys were planning on going to get drunk during the lunch break. My good friend and I were looking to join them. In the last minute, my good friend suggested we just go to our usual spot for lunch, so we did. We get back from lunch and the group of guys who went drinking are late...they come in very late, some with red faces. They all get pulled aside and questioned. We find out later they all were drunk, got suspended and weren't allowed to walk for our graduation ceremony. I think about that a lot because it could of been me. Would it have ruined my college options? Probably so. I think about it because it makes me wonder what options I would have had, and how it would have affected me long term.

My buddy and I are still good friends to this day. We often talk about that day and the "what if"...

Oddly, I asked a question that I can't really answer. I have many what if's and if only's but they seem to be as a result of bad things in life rather than anything positive. let me think of another question that can lead to less negative self reflection :)

Man, that is a hard one, I just can't remember when did I get what. Was it Christmas? Birthday? Although I am not rich my any means, I have a fairly comfortable life for many years now, and I got a lot of "stuff" that I got either as presents or bought myself as a present. I think I have to admit, too much stuff.

I don't think I ever got a "worst" present, not sure about the rest.

However on my 50th birthday Mrs. Gee did a really good one: She talked to my boss and organised a week off without my knowledge, then woke me up in the morning and told me to get in the car, we are "going somewhere". Why? What? Where? Then she drove me to the airport, and there we waited until suddenly my best friend, my main bro, appeared for a week long visit. Haven't seen him for a while, too. She made him get a passport, bought the ticket for him (he did not have the money for it) and sorted everything - and that was my birthday present. And I think its probably the best one I can remember.

Imagine that, I did exactly the same as Mrs Gee but the destination was just some cheap holiday camp... still a nice idea.
