I am already on holiday until the 5th of Jan :W So far I was busy busy busy, routing a new 3 phase power line to my workshop, restored an old table lamp as a present for my son, fixed the annoying popping noise in my car stereo, hand washed and waxed the car, had a good chat with my mechanic about upcoming repairs, tried for the first time ever to hone a cylinder, turned a large pulley from Aluminium, got a lot of presents ready, plus this and that. I am so happy....I could do this all year long. Can't wait for retirement ;)

Wow, TeeGee, what energy! Careful, retirees get overwhelmed quickly. Retirement takes preparation.šš

When I take a landscape photo, the biggest challenge for me right now is always making sure the horizon is truly horizontal. I hate crooked horizons in pictures. Of course, there are a thousand little helpers for that, but I donāt care for themāI want to achieve it freehand, by myself, to make the horizon a real horizon. Itās a bit like with the guitar these days; I donāt want to rely on effects machines that much. Things are more interesting to me at their core.

The horizontal horizon does not exist, take it from a former surveyor... Just kidding.š¤£š¤£š¤£

I picked up a Christmas tree from the store today. Luckily, the tree didn't weigh as much as I feared. I carried it home on my shoulder for two kilometers.
Or maybe I've just become stronger š
Luckily, the Christmas break in hobbies has started. I was already starting to feel a bit tired, so now I can happily eat chocolate during Christmas, because I really feel like I've done something.
Well, I'm not quitting all my hobbies, even though it's Christmas. Maybe I'll make a few songs for Wikiloops in the next two weeks, at least that's my goal.

Turkey's in the oven, Christmas cake has been iced, mince pies and sausage rolls are cooked and taste tested and outside the rain gutter's leaking. Merry Christmas from rainy California :W:)

You need a book. I didnāt have one for a long time that really gripped me. Now I do.
I only read one or two pages each evening before falling asleep, but thatās fine.
Iāll probably need about 25 years to finish it, and Iāll just enjoy it. Slowly, like a snail, working my way through it.
The nice thing is that I donāt know how the story goes and ends - being 0% spoilered.
Itās an edition with many collected works. Thin paper, like a bible. The publisher is Zweitausendeins. I remember that this publisher used to release affordable books for avid readers. This seems to be one of those editions. I have it from the share-a-book-shelf.
If anyone is interested in the author, feel free to contact me.
Have a nice rest of December, dear diary.

when you replace Christstollen by Hutzelbrot (Birnenbrot), you can reduce the weight gain to 1.99 kg perhaps! I did the transition straight up and havenāt stepped on a scale since.

I have the same problem. If I try to read a book, I fall asleep after a few pages. š
Santa brought me a new book for Christmas that I've decided to read. This time I'll probably succeed, because I'll probably have read it tomorrow.
Christmas was nice. The only bad thing was that I also ate too much.š

Happy New Year everyone!
My son and I went to play with the fireworks. It was a nice evening, even though we were a little cold. It's only -15 outside, but it takes a few days to get used to winter again.

Ren's English is so noble!
(I think it's worth briefly reviving the December thread for this episode)

This still makes me laugh š Maybe I should watch one episode of this series every morning while drinking my coffee. I'm in a much better mood now.
