Hey there, wikiloopers! What are you listening to?

Here is a track by AB's, a band from Japan I discovered recently. Ok, this is an old band, but I'm not so much into new music.

I really like the guitarist, Makoto Matsushita who released solo stuff too, as well as other projects like the band PARADIGM SHIFT (recommended for prog lovers).

Oh and by the way, great slap bass on this track, don't you think?

Love the mood on that track you posted. The solos, well not so much, but yeah, Mahavishnu Orchestra was very influential, I kinda like some of their tunes, but I'm not the biggest fan of John McLaughling's playing. I know is cited by many guitarists though. I've always preferred Al di Meola, at least on electric guitar, because Paco de Lucía is the ultimate acoustic guitar player to me.

Speaking of Mahavishnu, I discovered a singer/guitarist from Argentina who was hugely influenced by that band, at least I heard it in videos about his music. I'm talking about LUIS ALBERTO SPINETTA. There are really great tunes from him, like this one (with his band SPINETTA JADE from the album ALMA DE DIAMANTE, such a great one!) :

This is fun! Didn't know that band, I see why AB's reminds you of this, because it's very old school stylistically. Thanks for sharing.

Every member involved in other’s members project
The fearless flyers for example

I can follow suggestions and be surprised :
I’ve found Simon Phillips and his “Protocole” projects for example

Nothing new since last heartbreak with Snarky Puppy.

Lately I've been listening the albums of "Ridillo" (an Italian band) again.
About a year ago the drummer passed away.

It's a documentary about Black Metal band on Norwegian TV od they talked about this icon album from Mayham, so have listened to it really raw, and an awesome drummer. :)

I listen to random stuff on Bandcamp. Ambient current fave genre: a little gem I ran across: https://whitelabrecs.bandcamp.com/album/svalbar . Reminiscent of the Harold Budd/Brian Eno collaborations.
