Biography
Grew up in a family with many quality musicians. Father is a pro drummer. Uncle was a pro guitarist in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Another uncle studied bass at B.I.T. in Hollywood. Grandmother and aunt used to sit in with Dick Dale as keyboardists/Piano, professionals in jazz, blues, swing, samba, rock. Brother was an exceptional folk guitarist, vocalist songwriter (Nick Martin) who would also get free air-time on the radio in Kauai several years ago.
I play guitar and a little bass! Started at age 15, roughly. I'm currently 56 and still playing quite a lot. I was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Paige, Randy Rhoads, Johnny Guitar Watson, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Some of the current guys I listen to are; Guthrie Govan and Matteo Mancuso.
I've never played in a cover band and never will. I have been writing my own music for 30+ years and have had quite a bit of experience playing private parties, wineries etc. I am currently in the process of putting together a small group to play some instrumental music!
