Biography
I shattered my ankle so now i cant skateboard anymore. I enjoy modding electric guitars and building effects pedals. I am still figuring it all out, but soon I will be building my own FX Pedals. I like the Minutemen allllot at the moment. Like reggae dub, blues, guitar based rock genres, synths are badass, if its genuine and got soul, ill like it.
Instruments
I have one of those Fender Marauders that were special edition and I guess made in china. I bought a Marauder pickup from Curtis Novack (supposedly based on the marauder pickups for the prototype of the unreleased fender marauders back in the 60's.) that I have not installed yet. I also bought a '65 jazzmaster pickup from Curtis Novack and replaced the crappy jazzmaster pickup in neck position. I intend to replace the triple bucker that is currently in bridge position. It is the same size as a humbucker, so I intend to buy a third phase humbucker from Curtis Novack to replace that, cuz I heard they sound super dope. I am planning on putting the marauder pickup in between the neck and bridge pups. I just need to figure out how I want to wire it. I learned how to install a passive overdrive circuit on the tone pot or can make it active with an ON Off SWITCH. I intend to add that functionality. It should be very cool when its done.
I also have a 2007 Deluxe Roadhouse Strat. I bought it for 300 bucks. Major Score... I didn't like how the pickups sounded.. I Dont think they were texas specials... I bought some Custom wound Pickups from tone hatch and he used alico 2 on the treble strings and alnico 3s or 5s on the wound strings.. i forget exactly what he did... But they are the best sounding pups I've heard on a strat and at the moment I have it wired so theres a master tone nob and each pup has an independent volume knob.. I'm thinking about just taking out the middle pup and using the neck and bridge and then wire them up with a 3 way and add the overdrive circuit and either keep the boost cap I wired on a push pull... or remove that and just put a momentary and add a kill switch. I love kill switches.
I have a 1964 Silvertone sillouette 1478 or something likethat... I had to replace one of the original pickups.... cuz i couldn't spare it the wire was completely fucked... I didn't know anywhere I could have it rewound and I don't know ish about winding pickups... I also had to install a new nut, I messed up on the shape... the next octave is fret 13 or 14 not 12... it has a removable bridge.. It just wont make 12th fret Play the right note.. I am going to take it somewhere to get it fixed, since it is in pretty good condition otherwise and I miss the hell out of it, its a bad ass guitar, I need a decent tremolo bar like that guitar... I am planning on buying another offset fender, Most likely a Jaguar, mustang or toronado... I havent decided... But I really like the Epiphone Crestwood Customs...
