I'm not a drummer but it sounds like you're hitting the partly open hi-hat and then letting it drop to close it off? Really super-consistent - I'm seriously impressed. (Yes, I'm pleased by little things! ;-) )

Yes, exactly. It's a foot rock on the hh pedal. Heal (open) on the beat and ball (close) on the off beat. It's a fun groove that works well with dance music ;)
