Been itching to play and managed to get going on this great template from Marc with Oli's excellent and sparse add. I've taken a pretty unsubtle approach in an effort to drive it up-tempo - the two other adds on this template similar to other approaches I had in mind. In the verses, kept it tight with the kick phrasing with the keys. Choruses I actively chose to stay away from the pushes to keep the drive going. Also peppered it ...

Excellent work Martin! :W +1

Interesting what you did on the opening/main verse sections. +1

mpointon Your comment I totally agree with! I’m happy with the verses but choruses I’m not so.

I’m not saying that’s what you said but I read ‘verses ok, choruses not so good’ which I completely agree with!

LeftTheLoops9-18 No sir. Wasn't implying anything concerning the chorus. Sounded fine. The verses were what stood out to me but I simply wasn't sure as to why they caught my ear more then the chorus. When I typed that I was simply imagining a moving bass pattern and the "interesting " comment was me rolling an idea in my head . I sometimes think people can read my mind and automatically know what I'm trying to express. But no, Martin your playing was simply sparking my mental gears turning is all. +1

such a cool take ! love the drivy feel : gives a great contrast with the different layers ! glad you had fun and i'm tellin you that i'm also glad to have a new track to mix from you ;) +1

mpointon Thanks Oli. It was a tough call. Your add was so subtle and discrete, belting all over it seemed wrong.

But I decided a hard drive could work for future adds. Atmosphere and driving beats can work well and that’s what I’m hoping for!

Yeah Martin! Very tight and great dynamics! That double bass gives a great drive and the piccolo is sounding realy good!
Very good to hear yo again!

mpointon I loved this track from the outset. It’s great to hear your more ‘esoteric’ side! I originally wanted to get all jungle in it but right arm said ‘no’! +1

Beautifully balanced sound that certainly doesn't intrude. Just keeps this on the boil. +1

mpointon Thank you, Wade. Was a tough track for me to decide in approach. Still not happy with the ‘chorus’ sections but it’s basicalky what I played at the time if you see what I mean!

I was also running out of ‘arm strength’ to do many more takes. I hate this tendinitis.

Wade
Wade Yea, I hear you about tendonitis. I had to give up playing one of my saxes for two years due to it aggravating the problem. I can play it again now, but am judicious about how long I play it for. +0

mpointon Thanks, man. Tough track. Between you and Alex, I struggled for an approach.

I really wanted to get in on Oli’s bossa section but couldn’t without the whole drive falling away.

In the end, hit hard and fast in the hope others will fill in the gaps!
