A bit late to the excellent party of Oli's. I recorded this yesterday but really wasn't happy with it at mix down. So I left it overnight. Had another listen today and decided it wasn't as bad as I thought so here it is. As always with Oli's templates, they're never as simple as they sound! I went all-out Jeff Porcaro with this. It's exactly the right kind of pattern for me - slow beat but with a quiet busy-ness in ...

Of course you never fail at finding the pulse and the punches that the track really needs :) needless to say i'm going to enjoy mixing your drumtrack ! +1

mpointon Thanks, Oli. Glad you enjoyed the mixing and what a great mix you did! I chose a very technically challenging approach for me because those ghost notes do not forgive - you get them to sit right or leave them out; there's no 'compromise'.

It's the main reason I stopped and left it before uploading. I wasn't happy with the 'smoothness' initially but I put that down to hearing myself in isolation. I decided it was OK once the tracks blend in.

Such a tasty drum track. This is just so good especially since it has such subtlety. +0

Please give it up for the band!

On the internet no-one can hear you applaud but wikiloops comes close.
It might be "just" home recording, but let's not let go of showing some appreciation for our musicians' creativity. After all, that's what makes the loops go 'round… Hit Thumbs up if you like a jam
