Tenor is in Bb. Add one whole note = playing in concert. B + whole tone = C#. Not an easy key, but the alto and sopranino are in Eb, which is worse. Not an easy transposition. Guitarist's favorite key is E, which puts those instruments in C#...so you get used to it.
