Cool track Frank :) I like 3/4 beat <3
This rhythm was widely used in France in balls and popular music. It can be found in "Java" and "Valse Musette". It is also part of my musical sources when I was 8 years old and I learned the accordion :) +1

I have always been fond of 3/4. I am very comfortable in it. I think because as a child, my dad would strum guitar and sing "Old Shep" to me in 3/4 time. A song by Red Foley. I would cry and then ask him to sing it again. :)

I listened to this track from Red Foley. It is structurally very similar to old French ballroom songs. The language and some guitar sounds are just different. Traditional American music is an aggregation of ancient European styles that have mingled with enormous Afro-American influence. Your basket is full :)

I agree with Titi's comment, but French "Musette" goes uselly much faster :D Good feeling to join in a bass line :)

I listened to a version played on accordion duet. It was faster there. Great music.
