Gentle Hammond Ways
Just playing around with some Leslie and drawbar effects and thought this might be a nice add.

Maybe Gregg Rolie was in my ears... one of my favourite Hammond players beneath Jon Lord, Rick van der Linden and Booker T Jones :D

Definitely has that David Brown/Early Santana feel with those drums and keys behind it. Sounds great!!

Thanks Nick ;) Always loved the smokey organ sound of the early Santana recordings. One fine day I will get an old Hammond C3 :W

The groove of the „original“ is immortal and so is Gregg Rollie‘s organ playing Bothen :W

This is fantastic ,great fan of early Santana and Gregg Rollie and you capture that feel and sound very well. Can I ask what you are using to recreate that sound? Is it an actual Hammond , it sounds like it but I’ve been fooled before as there are some very good imitations these days:W

I always loved Gregg‘s sound as it sounds very organic, warm and alive ;) This track was recorded using the excellent Hammond emulation of Garage Band plus additional plugins for Leslie and Scanner Vibrato and lots of overdrive and drawbar moves. It can‘t emulate the feel and smell of a real B3/C3/RT3/A100, but for homerecording it‘s not bad ;).

Thanks for answering my question.Agree nothing beats the real deal especially when played by great exponents like Jon Lord, Keith Emerson,Brian Auger to name a few but you made it sound pretty close to my ears anyway

If I had a real Hammond in my living room this would surely kill my electric bill plus the good relationships with my neighburs, haha ;) I‘m very happy I could watch the masters like Jon Lord, Keith Emerson and Jimmy Smith live. Each of them a great player in a different musical way!
