Der Dichter
Ich habe viele selige Gesichte
wie ein verzückter Heiliger geschaut
und formte aus der Weisheit tiefstem Laut,
Natur, die schönsten, seltsamsten Gedichte.
Ich ging im Schmutz und durch die Schar der Wichte
und habe still an meiner Form gebaut,
der andern Himmel hat mir nie geblaut,
und ihre Wünsche waren mir Verzichte.
Greis war ich, als ich zwanzig Jahre zählte,
in meiner Seele klang der Mythos Welt,
wie ein Gesang aus grauer Vorzeit her.
Nun da ich mit dem Alter mich vermählte,
fühl’ ich ...

Ein Gedicht zum Verlieben, da hast du recht, Andrea. Oder...a poem to die for! A poem with such a variety and complexity of depth, making me dizzy with delight, replacing the melancholic sentiments. Lyrics fit for a king...in this case for you and Hudson to perform. :)
