Quick Sunday morning fun blues jam on this great older track by RC-Drummer & P-Tar ... really cool guys, thanks. Wanted to try my short scale Ibanez AGB200 bass ... it's a semi hollow bass with flatwounds on it. Fun and easy to play because of the short scale and it's got it's own throaty tone. Never used it until now here on the loops.

Hi Pudsy. Great track and would not have guessed such a throaty tone out of a semi-hollow bass. +1

Ernie440 Yeah boss, thanks :) it really does have throaty tone with the real pickup engaged somewhat and a bit of treble, you get a real round bouncy P. McCartney type tone with the front pickup and treble rolled back. (like the Hofner) Not much sustain to speak of because of it's design but it's got it's place that's for sure. +1

BossHen unfortunately my wife has not yet been persuaded of the need or purpose of adding a fretless, semi-hollow body, short scale and 5 string to the bass collection ... :) She is a one bass is enough kinda of girl. +1

Ernie440 Lol Boss ... it's time to rein that little filly in and teach what's important in the life of a bass player! :) I didn't get a fretless for a long time, haven't been playin' it that long but it's something u really should have if you play bass IMO and it's not as hard as one might think .. (I know I'M no fretless expert) but it is FUN and a different experience! +1

That's interesting about the debut of this bass on the loops. I love the way those short scale basses look all stubby lol. It sounds good, it reminds me of that "upright bass" emulation Glez did. It has that sort of sound, the muddy jazziness.. +1

Ernie440 They got their own sound, that's for sure, I'd like to have a solid body short scale. +0
