it would be very nice if you would try to label your tracks correctly by stating which instruments are involved - otherwise people looking for p.e. a track without drums will land on this track.
Nice dreamy tune besides that :)

sowellca I'm sorry. I wasn't sure how to label it... I used VSTi's to do the drums, synths, and then played the lead guitar track. So would I use the "sequencer" label to denote that? Thanks for the feedback! :) +0
Woodstock
Woodstock Yes, sequencer!! +1

sowellca Thanks Woodstock! Much appreciated!:) +0
Dick
Dick hey guys - it is like this:
"Sequencer" is what we used to call anything that contains more than one instrument, that is totally correct, BUT since the last update, these multi-instrument mixes are actually showing which instruments are included - this is why we see a mixer and a guitar instead of the green "SEQ" icon which we used to see before. This has changed just two weeks ago, and it is not documented in the help section yet, so, my apologies for the understandable confusion about this.
Now, the major benefit of moving away from the "sequencer wildcard" is that these tracks now are findable if you search by lineup (of course no one looked for SEQ before), which is why I recommended to declare the instruments as good as possible :)

sowellca So, I kind of read that as, use the sequencer icon, but also the drums, etc to denote what the sequencer contains? Thanks for the feedback!:):) +0
Dick
Dick well, if you can label all contained instruments (you have up to three options), you do not need to use SEQ label at all, if you mixed 4 instruments, I'd suggest labeling the "commons" as drums & guitar + SEQ to indicate theres more included.
Generally, you can observe that tracks which feature so many instruments get less remixes on wikiloops, the more space you leave to others, the likelier it becomes someone joins in - just spotted #92709 by another new member this morning, have a look at what happened there if you like :)

ulfberth I'm now more confused. Also if I post a track with instrument designations - it has a mind of its own and shows as something else. No complaint, just an observation. +0

Dick
Dick please point me at the track in question and tell me which instruments you chose, I'd like to look into that - thanks in advance! +0

ulfberth #335791 as one example.
Wrongly or correctly entered - I enter Trumpet, Saxophones, Bass and description shows Keys and Sequencer. Even if I edit. I tend to go by the sound perceived from the instrument, but some seem to feel the input device is the correct description.

Dick thanks, I will look into that, that sounds like a bug for sure, there is no magic input device detection in play here :) +0

Dick
Dick er... the track shows drums + trumpet + bass as far as i can see (on the english language domain) - from where are you looking and seeing a wrong instrument display? or did you just edit it? +0

ulfberth After an earlier Edit it shows correctly on "Musicians" Tab. But not on "Remixes" Tab. English USA Northeast on a MacMini 15.7.4. Safari Version 26.3. - I wish I could post a screen grab. There are two instances on this template where the magic input detection quotes keys and Sequencer, when my input was not. A Third track was guitar and shows correctly.

I'm also getting no sound periodically - requiring quit and reopen. Same on 2 other Macs new and new OS.
- I'm happy but thought you should know - I couldn't be the only one ?
I'm ok with it, no complaints. but something going on with code ?!

Dick okay, now i know whee i need to look, thanks for that clarification, there has got to be a bug in the remix tree thing then, I'll check! This is not individual to you then... +1

Dick
Dick just published the bugfix, remix tree is displaying correctly now :) Thanks again for bringing this to my attention, it obviously slipped my radar in a previous update and had probably been bugged for a month or two. +0
