Replacing Instruments

Hello,

I have a question...

I have drafts on my computer but most of them have already all loop instruments or partly...

The question is not so much if i'm allowed to upload them all as single files and then present you the whole song (which would be boring in terms of how it works here) but more if wikiloops is also about sharing ideas and work them out with others...

Meaning... I have some sort of direction I like a song to go and want to show the idea that I have.. but I want all loops replaced by real instruments and elaborate together on it.. to eventually make it a collaboration.

Is that something I can do here too? And if so... how does it work?

Kind regards,

One option would be to use the crazy remix forum and post the multitrack there and use the uploaded track as a demonstration together with a link to the multitrack

Start with an isolated drum track or bass track, even a hi-hat-click track will work. Then add an upload called "sequencer" with all your ideas at once and give permission to steal your ideas for the root segment. E.g. "you can replay the shown guitar lick for this composition" :)

Another option:
Search some musicians, which style could match to what you are planning and invite them to a closed bandroom on ghe loops.
Only condition:
Each practicising member of the band has to be a supporting member.
Over there you all can experiment, till everyone in the band is content with the result.
Once a track is finished you can publish it on the loops, play it only in your private bedroom or conquer the hit-parade ;)

Thanks for the input so far! Great idea Nickboy. And also I'll be checking the crazy remix forum.

Thank you Will C. that is nice input too.. (our posts must have crossed each other as I only see it now)...

I'm not a supportive member yet, but once I am, this option you speak of is surely one to take in consideration!

I did it all the time when I was at IComp and working with Angela Hope.

Zam Zam,

We have done exactly that as a band. The band is "Trip, Groove & Hop". Basically we get an idea, then come up with a base track, with a click minus bass, drums and vocals. We than all add our parts. Finally we release a full song as a band, but also the individual parts on the Wikiloops stream. It works out very well. You can check out our band page here if you want to:

hope this helps

Cheers,

of course Zam you can upload separate tracks so the tracks to be replaced could be added by wikiloops members ... just make sure to upload your template free of the tracks to be replaced ;)
