I thought this might be the right time and the best place to give credit where credit is due. How did you hear about Wikiloops? Who was it that introduced you or did you find it on your own? I'm very happy to say that Aaron, or Haffast showed me this website. If you haven't heard of him, he's an epic guitar player...check out his wiki profile! He has been one of my best friends since the 7th grade. I know for a fact that I have had at least 5 other people join Wikiloops based on showing them the website. A big, huge, monstrous, epic thank you to Dick for making this place possible and a big thank you to Haffast who led me here! You and everyone I've made music with here have directly contributed to making my world a happier place! <3 Who was your muse? ;)

hello Kellsbells,

I hat the honour to be invited from Dick to test wikiloops before it going online. Because he live nearby and we are friends before wikiloops.
And I am a friend of wikiloops since my first contact:-)

best regards Lothar

I was told by a shadowy figure in a dark alley to come here and a guy named Dick would make me a rich and famous rock star beyond my wildest dreams.

Good topic, and interesting to hear/read people's stories.

In my case it was someone nicknamed "42low", in https://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=18164#p90176

So I decided to come here and to have a look, and later answered with https://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=18164#p90382

After joining here as a supporter a few days later, I gave feedback again in https://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=18255#p90884

That's my story, coming from and using only Linux and free (as in speech and as in beer (cost)) software like Ardour, or the Calf plugins.

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Funny, it was the vox only from Noj way back in 2014/15, the only acceptable goggel-result for free Metal vocals. Joined months later, and still didn't know about structures and core meaning. Got to spam them acoustic jams, aye. I've seen many people who join and leave again, and it was all the same, publish sequencers, don't get anyone to join, leave it behind. My first true Wikiloops experience after several weeks and halfbaked jams. I have noticed its actual potential one year later. Cheers

I ran into wikiloops by TOTAL accident. I kinda "faded" out of the music business years ago cause I was in a bought of depression for a couple of years but started up building my own studio just last year with new equipment and a wifi connection which I never had before. My drumset is still in the process of being put together again but for right now has been down in my basement collecting dust. So for the time being I was looking for drum tracks online and staggared across wikiloops naively. Kinda just got "sucked" in by the week and realized how amazingly diverse and deeply rich it is with so much creative juice from so many great people. I've realized to some degree how to be a better person and get through my depression thanks to wikiloops. I really appreciate Dicks great invention and all the people on here to make music great again.

I've been looking for some real drum tracks and was attracted by a blues vocal only track of Shi.
Since then I try to spread the news. But to give you honest feedback, I never met a musician who has heard about the site before and I've been never able to meet someone again in the virtual world. Don't know why. Maybe many musicians don't record or stay in the coversong dimension. Some popular artists could be listeners only, I suppose.
:)
Other artists have a good but little change to become as popular as they deserve.

Strangely, I've met people on this website based in Germany, that only live a few miles from me in the States! Ended up making music with them! I've lived within 12 miles of Haffast for all my life and we never made music together until this website!

I found it through my brother Stratcat77, and I made sure it got a mention on Play Guitar Podcast last week, which I listen to. Looking forward to playing guitar and bass on tracks and templates.
