This existential question has troubled the greatest minds for centuries, even the old Roman philosophers asked "Id est die illo una sabbatorum et pessimi?"

That question remained somewhat unsolved until the delightful Betty Chung once and for all put this subject to sleep in 1974 with this short chirpy musical equivalent of the Arrian speech of Alexander the Great:

Sippie Wallace (born Beulah Belle Thomas, November 1, 1898 – November 1, 1986)[3] was an American blues singer and songwriter. Her early career in tent shows gained her the billing "The Texas Nightingale". Between 1923 and 1927, she recorded over 40 songs for Okeh Records, many written by her or her brothers, George and Hersal Thomas.[4] Her accompanists included Louis Armstrong, Johnny Dodds, Sidney Bechet, King Oliver, and Clarence Williams. Among the top female blues vocalists of her era, Wallace ranked with Ma Rainey, Ida Cox, Alberta Hunter, and Bessie Smith.

It's a total gift that even today we can hear the creativity artists were putting into tangible, listenable products people could take home and make part of their world. If it weren't for their strides, there would be no us today. This is terrific.
